It’s not all bad, VHS video can be easily converted to DVD with not too much expense these days. You can even do it yourself on your own PC as there are now a variety of products on the market that help the average computer literate person to get resonable results. Alternatively, get a professional to do it and avoid the aggro.

Tape will eventually degrade over time even without the wear and tear from playing them. This is not the case with the DVD because the video content is stored digitally onto the disc which means once it has been transfered it will not degrade. Also, it becomes very easy to make a load more copies for family and friends – upload them onto your ipod or iphone or even youtube for the rest of the word to take a look.
