Basic HTML Sites
An HTML site while giving absolute freedom of design is limited because it can only output static content, it’s not easy to modify or maintain and it requires an expert to produce anything worthwhile. For professional solutions building a website with pure HTML has little advantage over websites that are built on a dynamic CMS database platform. But having said this, there are times when an HTML website is the right choice when in the hands of a competent website designer.
For instance, marketers will often create a simple one page landing page for their ad campaigns using html because it can be easily created with a WYSIWYG editor such as Dreamweaver and quickly upload via FTP to a web server.
Media Knights still uses HTML pure coded web pages when the cost in terms of time and money and future saleability does not warrant the installation of a fully fledged content management system. However, except for the creation of custom marketing landing pages this is now becoming increasing rare.
